The short version
Fairway Index works with no account at all, and that is the default. Used that way, your rounds never leave your device and we cannot see them. If you choose to create an account to sync across devices, we store your email address and your rounds — and nothing else.
Without an account
We collect nothing. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising identifier, no crash reporter, and no tracking of any kind.
With an account
Creating an account stores your email address, a securely hashed password, and the rounds, golfers and courses you have saved, so they can be synced to your other devices. That is the whole list. Your data is isolated from every other user at the database level, not merely by our application code. We do not sell it, share it, or use it for advertising, and there is still no analytics or tracking.
Deleting your account
Email support@sigrotechnologies.com and we will delete your account and everything stored with it. Signing out on its own does not delete anything, and it leaves your rounds on the device.
Where your data lives
In your browser's local storage on the web, or in the app's local storage on iOS and Android. Deleting the app or clearing site data deletes your scoring record permanently, which is why the app offers a one-tap backup file. That file is yours: it is written to wherever you choose to save it and is never uploaded anywhere.
Network requests
With no account, every outbound request the app makes is for course data, and it makes none at all until you search for a course. Then it fetches our own course list, and queries OpenGolfAPI and Golf Canada's public directory for anything our list does not have. When you pick a course, it fetches that one course's ratings. Those requests carry your search text and your IP address, as any web request does. They carry none of your scores and no identifier for you.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the date above changes with it. Since the app collects nothing, we do not expect it to.
